1. Will splicing with a junction box slow down my network?
A properly punched-down and tested splice has minimal impact on speed. Use the same T568A/B standard on both ends, pair the box with solid copper Cat6 cable, and count the splice within your 100-meter channel plan, and the link will maintain Cat6-level performance.
2. Can this junction box be used on PoE-powered links?
Yes, it can be used in PoE cabling. We recommend solid copper conductors for the permanent link and pure copper 24 AWG patch cords; 28 AWG slim cables are fine for short runs. Avoid copper-clad aluminum (CCA) cable—its poor conductivity and heat buildup are the main source of overheating risk in PoE installations.
3. Can I install it without a dedicated punch-down tool?
We recommend a punch-down tool to seat the IDC terminals reliably. In some cases the included cap can help press wires into place, but for lasting contact quality we still advise standard tooling and a post-installation test before the link goes live.
4. Does it work with Cat5e or Cat6A cable?
This is a Cat6-rated junction box. It is backward compatible for splicing Cat5e cable, with the link performing to the lower grade. For Cat6A or higher cabling, we recommend matching components of the appropriate rating so the splice does not become the channel's bottleneck.
5. How do I order in volume or request custom colors and packaging?
